This being the 30th Anniversary of Woodies on the Wharf (WOW) Santa Cruz Woodies Club (SCWC) wants to make it a special weekend giving thanks to all of you in our Woodie Ohana who, by supporting WOW over the years, have made it possible to reach this great milestone. Please pay special attention to the changes to the Friday schedule at the Ocean Pacific Lodge and the addition of a “Mahalo for the Memories Surfside Social” that evening at the Dream Inn.

Welcome Party at the Hilton’s for Club Members and Woodie Owners
Hosted by SCWC and Alan & Jule Hilton at their home overlooking the Boardwalk. Come join old friends and make some new ones as we gather for appetizers and refreshments served along with a whole lot of Welcome Aloha.

Welcome Open House Breakfast & Pleasure Point Paddle Out at the Ferdinand’s
All Club Members & All Woodie Owners Welcome. Hosted by Jim & Patty Ferdinand at their home in Pleasure Point. This traditional event is both a Memorial Paddle out to celebrate the memory of those of our Woodie Ohana whom we have lost over the past year and a chance for you to bring a board and your wetsuit and catch a wave or two at one of our most iconic surf spots.

Afternoon welcome party at the Ocean Pacific Lodge
All Club Members & All Woodie Owners Welcome to join us as we gather around the pool at our Host Hotel for appetizers and some fun activities. As usual this will be your first chance to get a look at event merchandise which will be available for pre-sale. Saturday Evening Tailgate Party Dinner tickets will be offered for sale as well as tickets for the raffle.

Friday evening “Mahalo for the Memories Surfside Social” at the
Dream Inn– 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
In recognition of that milestone and to give thanks to the City of Santa Cruz and our Woodie Ohana for their support over the years, we have planned a special evening at the Dream Inn to celebrate this milestone together.
Three beautiful “Welcome Woodies” will be staged at the entrance to the Dream Inn to guide you into the Surf View Room offering beautiful views of Cowell’s Beach and the Wharf. While mingling with our Ohana enjoy light hot & cold appetizers and a Mac & Cheese Bar. A full no-host bar will be available for you to purchase refreshments of your choice.

Woodies On The Wharf Car Show
While the event officially starts at 10 a.m., woodies start arriving on the Wharf as early as 6 a.m. to get preferred parking spaces. There is no registration required or fee for this event.



Saturday, 3:30 p.m.
Parade off the Wharf
One of the highlights of the day is the Woodie Parade off the Wharf which begins promptly at 3:30 p.m. after the Awards Ceremony. A police escort will ensure that traffic is stopped to allow for a return to the Host Hotel.
Saturday, 4:30 p.m.
Tailgate Party & Family Style Dinner at the Ocean Pacific Lodge
Bring your camp chairs and tables, some appetizers and liquid refreshment and stake out your spot tailgate style in the parking lot of our Host Hotel where major Aloha is the order of the evening! Dinner will be catered served buffet style from 5:30-6:15 p.m. There will be a charge for the dinner. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Friday evening Welcome Party. If you don’t want to enjoy the Buffet, please still come and enjoy the party! This year we will be having a special live auction. The evening will as always be highlighted by music to sing along with and dance the night away

Sophia’s Sunday Morning West Cliff Drive Woodie Cruise
When all gather outside of the entrance to the Ocean Pacific Lodge for another great cruise up West Cliff Drive and back to the Santa Cruz Harbor for Coffee and pastries and the last chance to say Aloha to our Woodie Ohana.
